Winter Training Starts Soon!

Winter Training Starts Soon!

November 30th - Feb 24th

What To Expect:

Our Winter Warrior program is a 12-week winter training experience built for athletes who want to carry the aerobic strength they developed during Cross Country into the Track season and take it to another level.

Rather than treating winter as an “offseason,” athletes learn the power of continuity, consistency, and purposeful training. Athletes will build on cross country fitness through challenging, progressive workouts designed to safely develop top-end speed, running economy, and strength.

The offseason is over. Welcome to PREseason.

Program Dates:

Our Winter Warrior program starts on November 30th 2026 and ends February 24th 2027. It will meet 2x per week on Mondays and Wednesdays. We will also offer an occasional optional Saturday Long run for our HS athletes contingent on safe running conditions (minimal ice, above zero degrees, etc).

Practice Days, Time, Location:

Monday & Wednesday: 7:00 pm

Pettit National Ice Center

Saturday Long Run (HS Only & Weather Permitting): 9 am

Greendale HS, Lower Lot Near The Athletic Entrance.

Fees:

Program Fees are $220 (Unless you were a part of our inaugural 2024 cohort). Fees are due at the first session. Cash is preferred and will land you a $20 discount. Payment can be split if needed.

Please note, there is an additional cost to purchase admission to the Pettit between $2.50 - $5 per visit that is not included with our program fees. We suggest that families register with the Badgerland Striders to lock in $2.50 admission. This will allow you to cover 24 sessions for $85 ($60 Pettit Fees, $25 Striders Registration Cost) vs $100 for 25 bulk sessions. Sessions purchased do not expire and can be carried over season to season or used in summer for a break from the heat.

Cost Breakdown: $200 Program Fee (Cash Discount) + $25 Strider Membership Fee + $60 Pettit Facility Fee. Roughly $285.

After week one, there are no refunds barring extenuating circumstances.

Other Things To Note:

Sessions may be cancelled due to extreme weather / Pettit Track Closures / Coach scheduling conflicts. We will do our best to communicate cancellations in advance, as well as offer make up sessions if it is reasonable to do so.

Our program is open to ALL middle school / high school athletes in the area and surrounding areas.

Due to track constraints, capacity is limited to 20 athletes per program. Slots will be filled on a first come, first served basis with previous athletes receiving priority. Transportation is not provided.

What To Bring: (Shoes, Water Bottle, Yoga Mat, Cold Running Gear)

Please invest in a new pair of running shoes for your athlete to kick off winter training. Overused footwear leads to preventable injuries.

Fall / Winter in the Midwest tends to get cold. The Pettit National Ice Center also happens to be cold. For safety, athletes should arrive to each practice with basic cold running gear. Things like warm hats, hoodies, gloves etc will go a long way ensuring your athlete can properly warm up and participate.

Lastly, don’t forget to bring a water bottle and a yoga mat.
